Rose Matheny is a Math and Science instructor who began teaching at Fusion in 2009. She received her BS in Astrophysics with a minor in Mathematics from San Diego State University, and has worked in the astronomy department at SDSU conducting research in the field of extragalactic novae. She recently joined Project Astro, a program that dedicated to improving science education in grades 3-9 by creating partnerships between scientists and the schools in their communities. When not looking through the eyepiece of a telescope, Rose is always searching for the next half-marathon for which to train.

"My child enjoys attending Fusion every day.
His relationships with staff and teachers are wonderful. He enjoys each and every one. They make him feel like he matters, he belongs. He has gained so much more confidence in himself, academically and socially."
